Reverse Osmosis in Flower Mound, Priced on Paper First

If you're tired of hauling cases of bottled water or tasting chlorine in your morning coffee, a reverse osmosis system under your kitchen sink fixes that at the tap. We check your water, explain what RO will and won't do, and put the price in writing first.

How Reverse Osmosis Works at Your Kitchen Sink

In an RO system, tap water is forced through an extremely fine membrane that stops dissolved solids, and a carbon stage removes the taste and smell of chlorine. The small faucet by your sink delivers water that tastes clean and gives you clearer ice and better coffee. Few methods treat your drinking water as thoroughly.

The system only reaches the taps it is connected to, typically the kitchen faucet and sometimes the fridge line. Showers, the washer and bathroom sinks still run on ordinary tap water. If your concern is chlorine while bathing or scale throughout the house, a whole-home filter or softener may be the better pick, and we'll say so.

You receive a written estimate listing the system, every part and the labor before we start. If something under your sink would change the total on install day, we pause and talk with you before going on.

What Your RO Installation Includes

A water check before we recommend
We look at your water first so we can tell you whether RO makes sense for your goals. If a simpler carbon filter would do the job, we'll say that.
The full under-sink system
Sediment and carbon prefilters, the RO membrane, a storage tank or tankless unit, and a carbon polishing stage. A remineralization stage is available if you prefer water with a little more mineral taste.
A dedicated drinking water faucet
We mount the faucet in your existing sprayer or soap hole when there is one, or drill the countertop carefully when there isn't.
Plumbing, drain and leak checks
We tap the cold line, fit the drain connection, fill and flush the system, then check every fitting for drips before we leave.
Optional fridge and ice maker line
If you want filtered water at the refrigerator too, we can run a line to it and list it as its own item in your estimate.
Cleanup and a filter schedule
We clear out the packaging, wipe down the cabinet and leave you a simple schedule for when each filter is due.

When an RO System Makes Sense

  • Cases of bottled water every week

When plastic bottles keep piling up in the recycling, an RO faucet delivers similar water right at your sink.

  • Coffee or tea with an odd taste

A flat or chlorine flavor in hot drinks most often comes from the water rather than the coffee or tea.

  • Spotted glasses and crusted kettles

Dissolved minerals leave those spots and crusts behind. RO takes most of them out of the water you drink.

  • Ice that looks cloudy or tastes strange

Ice carries whatever your water carries. Feeding the fridge line from RO tends to make clearer cubes.

  • Concerns about aging fixtures

When older faucets or pipes leave you wanting more assurance about your drinking water, RO is a sensible, low-key step.

How an RO Job Runs, From Call to First Glass

  1. 1

    Your call and water test

You call, we ask how you use your water and what bothers you about it, then set a time to check your water at your home.

  2. 2

    A written quote

We put the recommended system, faucet location, any fridge line and the labor in writing. You decide with everything in front of you, and nothing is added later without your say.

  3. 3

    Installation day

We shut off the cold supply under your sink, mount the system, fit the faucet and drain, and route a fridge line if you chose one. Most installs take a few hours, and we work around your garbage disposal and anything stored in the cabinet.

  4. 4

    Flush, test and walk-through

We flush the new filters, check for leaks, and pour you the first glass. Then we show you the shutoff valve and how filter changes work.

What Sets the Price of Your RO System

We write up each RO quote only after checking your sink and testing your water, so the whole figure is known before work begins. Standard professional installation included for qualifying homes. Here is what raises or lowers your total.

Tank style and number of stages
A simple unit with a storage tank runs less than a tankless design or one that adds a remineralizing cartridge. We walk you through what every extra stage does, so you only pay for the parts you want.
The counter around your sink
An unused sprayer or soap hole lets us set the faucet with almost no added work. Drilling granite or quartz takes diamond bits and extra time, so it appears as a separate line on your estimate.
A line to the fridge or ice maker
Sending filtered water to the refrigerator means more tubing and more labor, and how far it sits from the sink plays a part.
Pressure at your tap
An RO system needs steady pressure to do its job. When yours reads low, a small booster pump may be called for, and you see the gauge reading before it goes on the quote.
Filter replacements over time
Prefilters and the membrane get swapped on a regular schedule. We write those costs down at the start so you can see what ownership looks like over the years.

Reverse Osmosis Questions We Hear Often

Something not covered here? (972) 707-2188

Does an RO system waste water?

Some water is used to flush the membrane and runs to the drain. Today's units send far less than older ones did, and good pressure cuts it down more. We'll tell you how the system we recommend for your kitchen performs.

Will RO water taste flat?

With most minerals removed, many people describe the taste as light and crisp. If you like more flavor, an optional remineralizing cartridge after the membrane puts a little mineral content back.

How often do filters need changing?

Plan on fresh prefilters once or twice a year. The membrane lasts much longer, often two years or more, depending mostly on how much water your home goes through. We give you a written schedule so you always know what's next.

Do I need RO if I already have a whole-home filter?

Not always. A whole-home system handles chlorine taste throughout the house, while RO pulls out far more dissolved solids at the kitchen tap. Many homes have both, and we'll give you a straight answer on what yours needs.

Will it fit under my sink?

In most kitchens it does, even with a garbage disposal. If the cabinet is cramped, a tankless unit takes up less room, and we measure the space before we quote a price.
